Making a Difference
One Woman at a Time
Connie Cares is an outreach to homeless women in Houston, TX. Our goal is to demonstrate the love of Christ in a tangible way by meeting the physical needs of these women. We are committed to doing what we can with the resources we have in order to make a difference in their lives.
Who is Connie?
Constance Jones, aka "Aunt Connie" is Katherine's great aunt and the catalyst behind this program. Connie gives selflessly of her time to help anyone in need. In 2017 after the city of Houston was devastated by Hurricane Harvey this little lady would deliver needed food supplies to those in need.
After one particular day of delivery she shared with Katherine a conversation she had with a homeless woman who thanked her for the help that was provided, but also shared some additional needs. While recounting the story to Katherine, the sadness in Connie's voice at not being able to provide for that women was unmistakable. So, from Connie's heart of service and one women’s request Connie Cares was born.
Each woman we serve receives a Connie Cares backpack which includes:
-
Feminine hygiene products
